It’s exam and assessment season! 🖊📖 Come on in to the LRC and make use of our quiet study areas. We also have a variety of study materials available for you to use! Don’t forget our after school Homework Program, Mon Tues Wed 3.30 - 4.30pm 😉
We are always looking for donations of books to keep our Little Free Library stocked . If you’ve recently had a clean out or would like to kindly donate any preloved books we would really appreciate it. Any donations can be dropped into our Front Office at St Mary MacKillop College. 📚
Sometimes the big kids stop and play a game too!
Today FASTRACK champion, Mr Howison was beaten by our very own Chiaki in this game of speed and skill!
Are you attending the Subject Expo this evening??

The LRC have had a busy morning creating our display and we are pretty happy with how it’s turned out!

The Library may not be offering a subject for you or your student but what we are wanting to showcase is all the wonderful activities and opportunities that our Library has on offer .

The LRC has evolved over the years to suit the needs of our students and we are very proud to promote our little sanctuary! Please say Hello to our staff attending tonight 👋🏻 and feel free to attempt a game of chess or a lego challenge if you or your family members are willing!
We have been busy getting our display ready for the Subject Expo tomorrow night, 5 - 8pm. We have some fabulous resources to showcase, like Studiosity and World Book Online. Make sure you come and say hello 👋
"Some of the most amazing characters in literature are strong and powerful women, and for International Women's Day we want to celebrate the courage and fearlessness of some of our favourite protagonists."

Exciting news; we just launched an Instagram page 🎉

Make sure you are following us to stay up-to-date with everything LRC related. We appreciate your support.
Are you excited? Two-day, Two-uesday, is the day! The CBCA 2022 Notable Books will be announced, LIVE, at 7 p.m tonight! Who are you hoping will make the list?
The community of St Mary Mackillop College will soon be celebrating the Seasons of Lent.

Lent is a period of time between Ash Wednesday and Easter.

Lent lasts for 40 Days, This has come from the 40 Days that Jesus fasted in the desert before starting his ministry.

The focus of this Season is on spiritual growth and connection to God.

Take a look at this very informative 3-minute clip to find out more about why we celebrate Lent and what it may mean for you and your family.
❤️ How did you celebrate Library Lover's Day? ❤️

We love this idea! If you were to borrow your favourite book as a child, to read to your own children, what would it be? I would have to go with The Wishing Chair by Enid Blyton 🪑
🎉 Welcome back! 🎉

We are excited to kick off 2022 with new books and a new staff member! We are very lucky to have Mrs Alderuccio join the LRC team. Leave her a welcome message below, or pop in and say hi 👋 She can even loan you a new book 📚

Today our St Mary MacKillop College community celebrated Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and a time where we traditionally give up something for 40 days until Easter Sunday . If you follow this tradition what are some things you may be giving up ? . A Lent Prayer✝️ Almighty and ever living God, You invite us deeper into your world , your people , your Lent. May this time be one of outward focus ; Seeking you in those we often ignore . Help us live a Lent focused on freedom, generosity, and encounter. Give us hearts hungry to serve you and those who need what we have to give. Amen 🙏

Let’s talk Library and Information skills sessions! 📚. This morning the LRC held 2 year 7 classes for a Library and Information session which Mrs Alderuccio presented. The students were grouped together to go through a short presentation about all things LRC, everything from spaces , book borrowing, times the library is open, homework program to Where our charging stations are located for their Mac laptops and what the expectations are around those. Students then broke off into 3 smaller groups with Shaye , Chiaki and Mrs Alderuccio to go through printing /emailing , the library fiction area and how we use our Makerspace and green room. The groups then finished off with a scavenger hunt to familiarise themselves with our areas and then they picked a book to read for their silent reading time after lunch. What a morning! 😄 We look forward to seeing our year 7 students in our beautiful library space .

And we”re back!! The Learning Resource Centre is a hive of activity today.

We welcome all our year 7-12 students back today for the 2023 school year and hope that everybody has eased back into school life at St Mary MacKillop College.

It’s great to see students back in our library again!
