Here's a little taste of what we are about. If you want to know more, check us out at www.reactdramaschool.com.au

We at React are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of React Legend Aidan Lyle. Aidan started at React from a young age and stayed for many years, working on countless plays and slaying us all with wonderful sense of humour. Later on he served as a tutor before heading off on his own teaching career. He was always an absolute gentleman, displayed kindness and generosity to all, and was gloriously funny. He was adored by many and will be deeply missed. One of my last messages to Aidan read : “Many a day goes by where I wish Aidan was in class with me.” To which he responded in his usual delightful manner “Naaaaw mate 🙂“
All our love and support go to Aidan’s partner Kat, his family and his friends.
At React we have been busy preparing a veritable buffet of delicious plays for you all!
Our End of Term Performance is on the 30th of June at the Moonah Arts Centre and we are fizzing to show you what we have been preparing.

As 2023 closes, we at React have a great deal to be thankful for.
It’s been a huge year on so many fronts. We have welcomed many new students and been blessed with so many returning ones.
Our student body is the most diverse we have ever had. This has led us to produce some our most exciting and mature work to date.
We have welcomed new classes to our schedule and are now in the process of welcoming new tutors and teaching assistants.
All of this could not be possible without the work of some incredible individuals. Our tutors Cassie Xintavelonis, Kate Choraziak, Maddie Clifford, Katie Clapham, Jo Thomson, Madi Edwards and Griffin McLaughlin (both of whom are heading off to further study at the National Theatre and WAAPA). All the team at Moonah Arts Centre who house us twice a year at their marvellous space for performances. The Kamino family who film our performances so graciously, Elise Bagorski who lights our shows and Matt Dobson who provides so much support throughout the year.
Our deepest thanks goes to each and every student and their families who have supported us for over 22 years.
So now we enter our 23rd year with a plethora of excitement and ambition, with a pledge to continue providing the most solid acting training taught by the hardest working team there is.
If you are keen to join our family, please get in touch.
All are very much welcome.
Happy New Year! With much love from the team at React.

Well that is a wrap on one of our biggest years yet!
Our End of Year Performance took place at the Moonah Arts Centre where we presented 15 plays...that's right...15 plays in one day. It was a massive weekend for all of us and we would like to humbly thank the 500+ people who came along to watch.
Our thanks also go to Andy and the staff at the Moonah Arts Centre, to all the families who kindly supported the whole event, gave gifts, and cards, kind words and were generally AMAZING all weekend. Thanks to our staff at React who are the best at what they do, anyone who built or donated props and set pieces, and especially the army of volunteers who either stayed behind or stayed all day to help out. Shout out to Kate Choraziak, Maddie Clifford, Griffin McLaughlin, Sam French, Carys Howatson, Sam Pyefinch, Cassie Xintavelonis, and Matt Dobson.

Keep your eyes on the water
Harry and Miles live with their father, an abalone diver, on the wild and beautiful south coast of Tasmania. With their mum dead and their alcoholic father largely absent, they look after each other as best they can. Over a school holiday while Miles works on the boat, Harry begins an unlikely friendship that will upset the delicate balance holding this unpredictable world together.
Adapted by playwright Julian Larnach from Favel Parrett’s award-winning debut novel, Past The Shallows is an ode to brotherhood and a heart-wrenching, lyrical exploration of mortality, family secrets and the capacity for both brutality and tenderness within contemporary masculinity.
Acclaimed Director Ben Winspear leads a powerhouse cast of three young actors, each of whom play multiple roles. Past the Shallows is a deeply poignant and compelling story which we hope will stay with you long after the theatre lights come up.
Warning: Themes of Alcoholism and Domestic Violence
