Prep/1s are enjoying reading and playing. This is a great way to get your child to read and the whole family can play. We just got these ‘Jenga’ sets from Kmart and wrote targeted words on them. It’s a great way to model decoding and talking to your child about the sounds in the word. You can target 🎯 specific words or sounds! We have our amazing learning assistants to thank for making this game!

At Red Rock Christian College, we want to honour and support the capacity of our young people to increasingly manage and choose their education.

To more effectively enable students to progress in alignment with their learning readiness and in response to their interests and strengths, our secondary learning experience doesn’t follow the traditional year level model but instead follows a more flexible learning model which encourages students to enrol in explorations in response to their interest and readiness.

We recognise that each student holds unique strengths and therefore should be able to learn at a pace that lets them experience growth at success, whatever stage of learning they’re currently at.

To find out more about our secondary learning experience before the year ends, call us on (03) 9740 5400 to schedule a time with our staff, or visit our website: https://www.redrock.vic.edu.au/

Can you tell Christmas is fast approaching? One of our STEAM classes spent a class making these festive treats, all the while developing important skills in collaboration, creativity, measurement and experimentation. 👩🏻‍🍳

Have a look at that focus! Perhaps there will be some more baking happening around the house these school holidays…

The prep/1 class shared the wonderful story of the birth of Jesus in our final assembly. It was a joyful recount leading into this significant season.

30/11/2023

To celebrate soil week our year 3/4 students entered a competition where they had to make a presentation about how wonderful worms are and what they do for our environment. 🪱🌿

Each student-driven project was guided by the following criteria:

1. Wondrous Worms: A focus on why worms are so essential.
2. Role in the Ecosystem: Explaining the benefits worms bring to the soil and the broader environment.
3. Healthy Soil, Healthy Food: Highlighting the connection between thriving soil, supported by worms, and the nutritious food we consume.

Our students rose to the challenge with impressive vigour and detail, and their efforts showcased not only their understanding but also their passion for the subject.

While our entries did not clinch the top spot in the competition, the good news is that the class has been awarded a $100 gift voucher as a testament to their commendable efforts. Well done 3/4 students! 👏

We had an awesome day celebrating the Victorian School Garden Awards! We are proud to announce that Red Rock won ‘Best Edible Garden’. We are very proud of our students and their effort in the garden. It was also a day to celebrate our buddies program. It was great to see our year 6 students looking out for the younger students.

Earlier this month, students and teachers from Year 3-6 embarked on their annual camp - this year at Camp Wilkin in Anglesea. 🏖️

The camp was a thrilling amalgamation of fun and challenges that encouraged students to step out of their comfort zone, exhibit teamwork and perseverance and forge new friendships.

Highlights included navigating the coastal waters in canoes, overcoming heights on the rock climbing wall and high ropes course (look at those ‘Leaps of Faith’!) and toasting marshmallows in the evening.

Scroll though to see some snapshots of triumph and fun from a very memorable few days… ⬇️

Every student that comes into Red Rock Christian College has a unique and very individual set of interests, strengths and talents. 🦸

Our flexible learning approach recognises that each child is different and enables them to grow and thrive in the ways that they need.

In the early years, we provide students with a safe, nurturing environment that teaches them to explore, ask questions, think deeply, to respect others and to be just and compassionate.

As they progress through the secondary years, students are taught to combine independence with interdependent learning.

They are inspired and equipped as 21st-century learners by staff that are dedicated to their growth and wellbeing.

We are open for enrolments for 2024 and beyond, and would welcome the opportunity to explore how we can support your child in growing into all that they can be. 🌷

Our story

Red Rock Christian College is an independent, Christian school for students in Primary & Secondary. In 2019, we will be offering Year 9 and will continue to grow to Year 12 in 2022.
At Red Rock, we aim to encourage, challenge and inspire each student to learn, develop in character and understand the world in which they live.

As a College, we seek to work with parents and guardians to support and empower young people to discover their identity and purpose, and in doing so influence their world with integrity. We believe in actively preparing our students to influence their world from the day they join us. We provide them with a safe, genuinely caring community that teaches them to explore, ask questions, think deeply, to respect others and to be just and compassionate.

We believe learners develop understanding through meaningful engagement and real life application. Our goal is to have learners that take personal responsibility for their learning, collaborate with their peers and teachers, become excellent problem solvers and team players through developing the skills and habits of mind they will need in the future.

Our staff are committed to providing a safe environment in which positive and trusting relationships are established and in which children flourish.
