A huge thank you to AFL legend Kurt Tippett for dropping in to share his Sport Psychology insights with our Year 7 Aspire Sport athletes this afternoon.
The engaging Q&A session covered his journey, setbacks, mental strategies for success, and his brave journaling approach to performance optimisation.
It was an inspiring and valuable experience that’s sure to make our athletes not only fitter, faster, and stronger but also smarter. Thanks again, Kurt, for your impactful contribution to their development!

This week saw the running of the 2024 South Coast Regional track and field carnival and there were several Vikings athletes with superb performances 🚀 ⭐️

Luke Gorski showed why he’s a constant contender for national distance races striking gold in his 3000m by a big margin and putting himself right in the mix in his 1500m🥇

Charlie Williams followed on from his oceanic record in the high jump to secure a south coast jersey and upcoming state championship debut

Indi Plum also on the podium with a jump of 1.50 enough for a silver medal 🥈

Recently, our very own Year 7 student Roxanne Albertyn competed in the National School Titles for swimming here on the Gold Coast! From being crowned age champion at our swimming carnival and dominating districts, it was at States where Roxanne stamped her authority winning multiple events and qualifying to represent Queensland at Nationals!

It was at Nationals where the rest of the country got to see the true Champion that Roxanne is. She won 5 gold medals in the 50m & 100m Freestyle, as well as the 200 Individual Medley, which she says was the highlight of all the golds, followed by another two in relay teams. Along with the golds she won a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke and a bronze in the 50m butterfly.

All of this success does not just happen, Roxanne swims six to seven sessions a week and up to 30km a week in the pool, proving that with hard work you can achieve amazing things. Congratulations!
