International womenâs day 2022
We WON! âBondi mother of the yearââŚ
Thank you to all my loved ones & my community whom voted, I will continue to do women and children proud. Below was my acceptance speech. đ
What an honour it is to receive such a special award. It comes at the perfect time as my own mister three-year-old tells me Iâm a meanie for not allowing him to have a cookie before dinner. We may not outwardly say it, but the chances are we have all though it: âI donât know if I'm doing this mother thing right".
Being awarded the âBondi Mother of the Year" is quite the accolade; one that I gratefully receive tonight on behalf of all the mothers and early childhood educators in our Bondi community. As I approach 20 years of service as an early childhood educator, one of the greatest privileges of my profession is meeting so many empowered women who continually inspire me and motivate me to be my very best. It is such a special gift to begin your childâs education; and watching you manage your busy lives and achieve your goals is so empowering to us all.
I know that within our community of women we all feel a sense of pride for what women are achieving and that each and every one of us offers a unique perspective on motherhood that continues to inspire us all. This award is for all us mothers, a celebration of everything we achieve every day, every week, every month and through the years.
And Yes! We are doing it right!
Thank you.

đĽ2021 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION DAYđĽ
Today is early childhood educators day and to many this day doesnt mean alot but to so many women and men its a day where we celebrate each other. The last 18 months early childhood educators have been on a such a rollercoaster ride and with each obstacle we get stronger. Beau, Tessa Ann-maree.....working with the three of you is always a joy and a pleasure, we have shared some tears but definitely lots of laughs....you have all helped make me a better educator.
So from me thank you, thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do, for your hard work, passion, dedication, knowledge, creativity and care of our small people. You are my essentials. HAPPY EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION DAY.

NAIDOC week provocation table 2020: We look forward to sharing all the creative arts and learning that takes place within our program for next weeks NAIDOC week. Always was and always will be.
NAIDOC Week 8th - 15th November
Always Was, Always Will Be.
Always Was, Always Will Be. recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.
We are spiritually and culturally connected to this country.
This country was criss-crossed by generations of brilliant Nations.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australiaâs first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists.
Australia has the worldâs oldest oral stories. The First Peoples engraved the worldâs first maps, made the earliest paintings of ceremony and invented unique technologies. We built and engineered structures - structures on Earth - predating well-known sites such as the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge.
Our adaptation and intimate knowledge of Country enabled us to endure climate change, catastrophic droughts and rising sea levels.
Always Was, Always Will Be. acknowledges that hundreds of Nations and our cultures covered this continent. All were managing the land - the biggest estate on earth - to sustainably provide for their future.
Through ingenious land management systems like fire stick farming we transformed the harshest habitable continent into a land of bounty.
NAIDOC Week 2020 acknowledges and celebrates that our nationâs story didnât begin with documented European contact whether in 1770 or 1606 - with the arrival of the Dutch on the western coast of the Cape York Peninsula.
The very first footprints on this continent were those belonging to First Nations peoples.
Our coastal Nations watched and interacted with at least 36 contacts made by Europeans prior to 1770. Many of them resulting in the charting of the northern, western and southern coastlines â of our lands and our waters.
For us, this nationâs story began at the dawn of time.
NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country â a history which dates back thousands of generations.
Itâs about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nationsâ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. We want all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that our sovereignty was never ceded.
Always Was, Always Will Be.

CHILD CARE / ELC INFO -
Important message for those who have children enrolled in an early learning or child care centre. DONâT UN-ENROL them to save money. Thereâs actually financial support you can receive...
There is so much uncertainty in the world at the moment and so many people are losing their jobs, please donât add your child's educators to that list.
Talk to your centre/educator first. There are a number of things in place from the government to help families and to stop child care services from going bankrupt but these measures are only helpful if the children STAY ENROLLED.
Firstly, if you or your partner has lost their job or had your wages cut, you can go on to your MyGov page and apply for temporary financial hardship. This means that the government will pay your childcare fees in FULL for 13 weeks.
The government has also committed to paying the CCS portion of the fees in the event that the services do go in to lock down.
What this means for services is that we can keep paying our educators, our rent, etc etc etc. It means that at the end of all of this, there will be services (FDC services and centres) to send your children to.
Speak to your Centre Director and Family Day Care Educator. Find out your options, BEFORE just pulling your children out.
Apply for ACCS through MYGOV.
You can apply for 100% of your childcare fees to be covered by the government through whatâs called âAdditional Childcare Subsidy (Temporary financial hardship) ACCS. This will provide for 13 weeks 100% of fees covered. No out of pocket for families.
If you have lost your job, drop in income, or its uncertain in your work place or your experiencing a potential drop in income you can apply.
Here is how you do it.
Log onto MYGOV
Centerlink option
My family Option
Right colum âChildcareâ
Down to eighth option down âTemporary financial hardshipâ
Apply
Please ensure you choose
"loss of income or business failure due to uncontrollable circumstancesâ
(If you are not eligible based on your previous income you can still apply)
The government has said that childcares will still receive the CCS during a closure, so if you choose not to do this, your favouritesmall business childcares will suffer through a shutdown.
