One of the benefits of belonging to a system of schools is the opportunity our network affords to make our students' learning real and relevant. Our Year 10 PASS and PDHPE students have put their learning about physical activity and engagement to good use mentoring Year 5 & 6 at St Kieran's Catholic Primary School, Manly Vale.
A great authentic learning experience for our students and a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the relationship between our schools.

Supporting the Vinnies Winter Appeal is one part of the wonderful social justice program we have here at St Kieran’s, engaging students’ ‘Heads, Hearts and Hands’.

Yesterday we had a whole school Pyjama Day and Stage 3 Winter Sleepout to support this important initiative.

Stage 3 students were asked to ‘earn’ their donation for the Sleepout by doing extra jobs around the house and their community.

Congratulations to Zac (Year 4) and Sophie (Year 6) who attended NSW State Parliament House Today for the Bear Pit Finals.

This is a competition that is run by James Griffin MP, with all schools in our electorate. Both these students were outstanding and delivered an incredible speech with such passion and conviction.

A special congratulations to Sophie who won the Stage 3 finals. Both of these students should be incredibly proud of themselves as it is such a huge achievement for them both. A fantastic experience for Sophie and Zac.

What will you be doing as a volunteer in our canteen? In addition to having a good laugh with fellow volunteers, you may be helping prepare lunch orders or serving our little customers over the counter.

The best part, the smile on the kids' faces when they see Mum, Dad or their Grandparent in the Canteen!

Today Grade 4 took the school on a ‘journey’ to Japan for their annual school assembly.

They boarded Japanese Airlines to Tokyo and visited the sites and explored the culture. Along the way they shared their knowledge of Japanese language, martial arts, cherry blossoms, Midori (the world’s oldest Koala) all whilst enjoying the ‘inflight entertainment’ of Pokémon and feasting on the delicious Japanese cuisine served by the cabin crew.

All was made possible due to our marvellous Captain Joshua.

The content was taken from the exciting lessons provided by our wonderful Diocese of Broken Bay- Japanese Stem teachers.
