We’re proud to support the UTS International Alumni Award each year - it’s our way of celebrating extraordinary alumni and the chance to reconnect with familiar faces.
Last year, we had the pleasure of catching up with Pham Thi B**h Ngoc from Vietnam, the 2024 award recipient, recognised for her contributions to law and government.
Pham’s journey began right here at UTS College, where she studied Academic English before progressing to a Master of Laws at UTS. And she still has her UTS College ID card to prove it.
Now serving as the Deputy Director General of the Office for Party and Union Affairs at the Vietnam National Assembly Office, she has built an extraordinary career in government proving that women can do anything.

It's ATAR release day, and for a lot of Year 12 students, it can feel really discouraging to receive a score lower than you hoped. But there are other pathways into your dream degree, university, and career.
Recently, Lewin, an Environmental Biology student who studied the Diploma of Science with UTS College, shared his journey on the Choosing Your Uni Podcast with Rob Malicki. They talk about Lewin's HSC experience, the dreaded ATAR, and the pathway he took to his life now —from a gap year to working in a lab.

Hey Facebook! 👋
I’m Brendan, and I’ve been a Student Ambassador at UTS College for the past three years. I’ve completed a pathway program at UTS College and am now in my final year studying Business at UTS, majoring in Human Resources!
On the left, that's me in Year 12, navigating tough choices and personal challenges. Fast forward to today, and I’m the guy on the right—one of the top students in my class.
If you've had a challenging HSC and looking for advice, I'm here to share tips, insights about UTS College, or answer any other questions you’ve got.
Leave your questions in the comments or DM our page. I'll be answering them all on Wednesday 18 December!
It's time to say goodbye to 645 Harris Street. 💙
From January 2025, we’re excited to bring all UTS College students together onto one cohesive campus in Building 5. This move will provide a more connected experience, with convenient access to essential services like the Student Centre, HELPS Centre, and ITDS – all in one central location.
645 Harris Street has been home for our ELT, Foundation, and IT students and staff for nine years. It’s a space filled with stories, friendships, and achievements.
If you have a locker in this building, please remove your items and return your key by Friday 20 December.
ATAR Day is next Wednesday, and we're hosting a special online ATAR Day Q&A at 8pm. This isn't your typical info session—it's a genuine conversation with current students who have been where you have.
Join us to discover that your ATAR is just a number. Our UTS College graduates are living proof:
👨🔬 Lewin, is studying environmental biology at UTS to become the next David Attenborough.
🎥 Souad, graduated from a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) at UTS this year, and works as a social video producer at Channel 10.
💼 Brendan, finished his Diploma in Business and is ready to change businesses for the better.

We're hosting a Zine Fair and you're invited! 🎨
Our Diploma of Design students have been hard at work on their final project, which involves creating a zine that visually explores various contexts central to their design practices.
If you're interested in studying design with us or are an avid zine collector, check it out on Monday 16 December from 4 - 5pm in Building 5! See our students’ final projects, get the inside scoop on their experience in the diploma, and chat to teachers.

Meet Paniora (more commonly known as Pnuks). 👋
Originally from New Zealand and growing up in Canterbury Bankstown, Pnuks’s path to education wasn’t a straightforward one. After discovering he was eligible for HECS-HELP, he decided to take the leap into higher education and found UTS College to be the perfect fit. There, he honed his skills in social media and communication, ultimately leading him to become a TikTok sensation.
Now studying a Bachelor of Communication (Digital and Social Media) at UTS, Pnuks credits his success to the tailored support and inclusive environment at UTS College. As someone living with a disability, he’s especially grateful for the accessible services that made his transition into academia smooth and welcoming.

Last month, we celebrated UTS College Sri Lanka’s 5 Year Anniversary in Colombo with special guests, staff, agents, and school representatives. 🎉
It was a great opportunity to celebrate this community and thank everyone who supported us through challenges like the 2019 Easter bombings, COVID lockdowns, political upheaval, and the economic crisis.
“UTS College Sri Lanka is such a clear example of the College’s spirit of innovation and quality. The staff and students are wonderful, and through the College in Colombo all of you have put UTS on the map in the Sri Lankan community,” said Morwenna (CEO of UTS College) in her speech at the event.

Congratulations Year 12s! You've made it to the end of the HSC. 🎉
We think that's a pretty monumental achievement, no matter what way your ATAR goes. Take time to celebrate, rest up, and research your uni options.
And if you think you might not get the ATAR you need, you can spend a year with us and go straight through to most UTS degrees. Plus, you'll finish with a diploma and a degree.

Starting college and moving to Sydney can be a big change, and our Peer Mentoring program helps new students feel right at home!
By connecting new students with friendly, experienced student mentors, this program covers everything from navigating uni life to discovering the best spots around Sydney. 🌟
With regular catch-ups (like last month’s meet-up), our new students build friendships, get useful tips, and feel more confident as they kick off their studies.
We personally love this program because we’ve seen how much of a difference it makes—especially for international students settling into a new country.
