Fans were treated to an unforgettable experience when Chad Smith returned to Drumtek Australia in Melbourne for a meet and greet, autograph signing, and drum solo performance. Over 100 lucky fans packed into the intimate venue to witness Chad solidifying his reputation as a drumming legend. The night was truly enjoyed by all.
Special thanks go to Frank Corniola and the crew at Drumtek for expertly organising this one-of-a-kind event, and to Chad for taking time out of his major stadium tour to give fans an up-close-and-personal experience.

Well known Australian musician and long-time animal rights activist Darren Brollo, delivers his first release in almost 10 years.

'The Battery', is the first track from a project that Brollo has been developing for some time. Taking inspiration from an animal rights album he released back in the mid-'90s titled 'Retribution', a collaboration with Newcastle musician and long-time friend Paul Ermer.

Musically, Brollo describes his recent offering as Industrial Hard Edge; music written to challenge the listener.

"This is not a pop/rock tune you'll be throwing on your car stereo, but rather something you need to take the time to sit down to, to experience." - Brollo

After our last post it looks like the cat may be out of the bag, so... It gives us great pleasure to officially announce that drumming sensation, Benny Greb will be one of our International headliners' for this years AUDW!!! We're so excited to have Benny out for our festival to share his knowledge and musicality with the Australian Drumming Community! Tickets on Sale: May 28th!

2nd April 1987, One of the greatest jazz drummers of all time, Buddy Rich died aged 69 due to complications caused by a brain tumour. Rich worked with many acts including, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Tommy Dorsey's band, Dizzy Gillespie and Oscar Peterson. Rush's Neil Peart organized a pair of 90s tribute albums (titled Burning for Buddy), which also featured the work of Kenny Aronoff, Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, Max Roach, Steve Smith and Matt Sorum.

Ringo Starr receives knighthood The Beatles star is knighted by Prince William and jokes he'll wear his medal to breakfast.
