"Aussie Art Songs" is my Banjo Paterson themed School show.
In 50min, I demonstrate methods I used to create the Art Music from the lyrics
Through vocal and physical participation, students are guided through elements of music and learn how music can tell stories and reflect meaning in poetry.
There is an optional additional workshop on writing riddles.
"Aussie Art Songs" is also the title of my new album.

Storytelling in music
I’m passionate about music that tells story and paints scenes (Art Songs). I’m now sharing them and my methods of creation with schools across Australia.
Banjo (Andrew Barton) Paterson is one of our most celebrated poets, but many of his poems are mostly unknown, though many are incredibly moving, humorous and evocative.
I have created Art Music to 11 of his lesser known works with the view to bring them back into the public eye!
These songs are now collected onto an album I call Aussie Art Songs.
