We absolutely loved receiving these images and seeing the children engage in the activities with their big smiles.

We’re missing all of the children and families not at the centre and hope to have them back soon.

Until then we just want to let the parents know that they’re doing amazing and we’re excited to have them all back soon.

Have a great day!

We understand that lockdowns have been tough on everyone! Including the children.

As parents sometimes it can be hard to plan fun, exciting and learning rich experiences.

So here at the centre we decided to put together ‘Iso Bags’ we carefully packed each bag with contents that are age appropriate and will foster the children’s learning and development while being at home.

We had so much fun putting these packs together and made sure to include some treats for the parents who are doing an amazing job.

Keep an eye out on images of the children engaging with these packs!.

As another day comes to an end, we would like to wish all the educators far and wide a Happy Educators Day!.

Being able to work alongside families and watch as babies turn into toddlers who turn into pre-kinders who finally go to kinder makes our job so much more worth it.

1 in 2 Australians will be affected by cancer in their lives.

Cancer Council is the only charity that works across every area of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. Every minute, every hour, every day, we’re here for all people, affected by all cancers.

Friday 27th of August.

Over the month of July we began collecting donations for Daffodil Day 2021.

We teamed up with ‘EJ Creations’ and offered the families to purchase personalised mugs, travel cups, tumblr bottles and more.

We had set a goal to raise $500. I am so proud to say that we achieved this goal!.

I would like to begin by thanking all the families, friends and educators of the centre for their generosity and support.
Without you this could not of been achieved.

I huge thank you to ‘EJ Creations’ for offering her services and donating profits to the cause.

We reached our goal for such a great cause that’s close to our hearts! Thank you we did it!

DAFFODIL DAY FUNDRAISER

For this years Daffodil Day we have linked up with ‘EJ Creations’ to sell personalised bottles, tumbler cups and sippy cups along with personalised mugs created by the children.

A percentage from each item sold will be donated to ‘The Cancer Council’ in August.

Why Daffodil Day?

Cancer Council is the only charity that works across every area of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. Every minute, every hour, every day, we’re here for all people, affected by all cancers.

Once somebody hears the words 'you have cancer', their life will never be the same again, and the impact flows onto friends, family and colleagues. That's why the nurses at Cancer Council 13 11 20 information and support line answer the call of anyone affected by cancer. Each year, they respond to more than 40,000 Australians seeking emotional or practical advice, and can refer callers onto a range of services that both Cancer Council and other organisations provide.

About Daffodil Day?

The Daffodil Day Appeal is Cancer Council’s most iconic and much-loved fundraising campaign.

It’s a chance for Australians to come together and show their Flower Power; their ability to create change in the lives of people impacted by cancer, by funding cancer research.

In 2020, the Daffodil Day Appeal raised almost $1.5 million for life-saving cancer research, but looked a little different. Despite a global pandemic, Australians still dug deep and donated online to show their commitment to a cancer free future.

This year, we’re asking for your essential support once more.

Sadly, with nearly 150,000 Australians diagnosed with cancer every year, most people have been touched by this heartbreaking disease. That’s why we’re encouraging you to show your Flower Power, by registering to fundraise for The Daffodil Day Appeal, or by donating to the cause.

Daffodil Day falls on Friday 27 August in 2021, but you can get involved any time throughout the month.

All orders must be in by the 6th of August to guarantee you get your item by Daffodil Day.

Feel free to message us with any questions!

Pyjama Week 12-16th July

To raise awareness for children in Foster Care the educators came to work in their PJS!

Why?
The aim of of the day is to raise as much funds and awareness as possible for The Pyjama Foundation's Love of Learning Program which is offered to children in foster care - Australia's lowest performing educational group.

Who?
The Pyjama Foundation was founded in 2004 to give children in foster care the opportunity to change the direction of their lives with learning, life skills, and confidence.

Alarmed at the statistics highlighting poor literacy and numeracy levels of children in care, and how this contributes to a lifetime of disadvantage, founder Bronwyn Sheehan made the decision to offer hope and a more positive outlook for these children.

Through a simple program known as the Love of Learning Program, volunteers called Pyjama Angels are matched with a child in care, and spend just one hour a week focusing on learning based activities.

For over 10 years supporters have donned their PJ's on National Pyjama Day, rallying behind the same cause - encouraging children in foster care to achieve their dreams.

Good Afternoon Families!

I would like to introduce you to an organisation named ‘Toy Library Australia’.

Toy Libraries Australia (TLA) is the peak body for over 280 not-for-profit toy libraries across Australia.

Toy libraries in Australia are a non-profit incorporated association. They promote the importance and the value of play and aim to raise the profile of toy libraries in the community by publicising the role of toy libraries in promoting play, educating children and supporting families.

While searching up places to donate all of our spare toys, the educators came across this organisation.

Reading further into the organisation we noticed similarities such as promoting play, educating children abd supporting families.

We are lucky enough to have so many spare toys that we are able to donate! We thought we’d share the generosity and contacted Broadmeadows Toy Library, we were welcomed by an amazing lady named Nola.

Nola explained to us that due to Covid-19 they haven’t been open for most of the time, due to that they haven’t been able to buy and receive toys.

If you or someone you know is looking to get rid of toys, please do not hesitate to bring them to the centre and/or contact Toy Library Australia to find your closest branch. (All they ask is that we do not donate soft toys or war toys).

Tuesday 4th of May the centre celebrated ’International Firefighters Day’.

Each year, thousands of Australians (careers and volunteer) firefighters battle bushfires in both rural and rural-urban interface areas. In doing so, they face numerous hazards including heat, smoke, dust, noise and chemical agents.

Furthermore bushfire-suppression duties involve long working hours with periods of high-intensity physical labour.

The combination of such stressors places considerable physiological, psychological and emotional strain on a firefighter.

To show our appreciation and support, the children made posters to be added to a little gift to show that we care and we are supporting the firefighters as they risk their lives to ensure we are kept safe.
