A letter to my darling Bill who passed away today one year ago.
One year today Bill you went away , and I was devastated and lost for quite a while .
But after time I realised how blessed I was to have found you and the love you shared so freely with me.
Grief is a result of deep love and love never fades .
Slowly I am managing to live with grief , to accept it and allow myself these feelings. By doing this , I have been able to reflect and acknowledge our time together as a loving journey that has not ended. Yes you have passed over , but I know your spirit is watching over me and this has brought great comfort to me. I now focus on the loving memories and the time we shared ,and slowly and surely moments of joy and happiness are becoming a weekly affair . When I see something you would like or be of interest I speak to you and share with you these moments . Tears may well up or I perhaps I can laugh about it , whatever the emotion acknowledging my feelings is allowing me to find acceptance of my grief . Funny as it sounds my love for you has grown stronger and I love this feeling .
Bill you are forever in my heart and I thank you for your love and I now feel it is time to venture out. On the agenda is to go and see my dear friends in Perth who have never given up on me and to thank them so much for love and support throughout this year. I made a brief video of the life we shared Bill over the ten and half years. we were together. Forever in my heart DebXX
Qantas decided to lift its embargo after McGowan changed the border opening date and offerered a very limited few places for animals to fly. With short notice and support from friends to house sit the house , Bubba and I made it to Melb Vic 8pm 23rd Feb. Finally on Sat 26th we arrived to see our new home Bill and I had bought a year before. I had planned to have a Memorial for Bill on the 6 month of his passing, which is tomorrow the 14th, followed by visiting his grave . The memorial was postponed due to initial Qantas embargo and Covid . The house in Geraldton will be on the market shortly but my planned trip back to finalise this in April has changed. I realised I had been running on adrenalin since Bill passed and once I landed I have found I am so exhausted both physically and emotionally . Bubba and I have been on our own since the 27th Feb and take each day as it comes. We walk everyday and have wonderful neighbours who have been a great support . I am amongst the Manna Gums and I hear the kookaburra's most days. To all WA friends Covid has struck and it is a great concern for all. Keep safe and look after each other. Xx
On Monday I learnt that Qantas and Virgin have placed an embargo on transporting animals from Perth ( I am not sure if applies to other states) the rest of January and all of February . I was planning to leave my dog here with house sitter/friend and I would travel over and see Bill;s grave , family and visit new house and then comeback once our border opened to put house on the market . Our second shipment of our effects were picked up by Grace last week are on their way to Victoria . But with McGowan's announcement last night , I have now had to re think - I will not give up my dog and therefore we will wait till we sell house and then consider travel options to fly or drive with Bubba in tow! Although alone , I have needed this time to grieve and I am very grateful to be be in a secure position but plans have changed so often , this is best way to communicate it. Booster shot next week so we are prepared . Keep safe Victorian and Perth family and friends.

Update
On September 14th my beloved husband Bill Bain passed away at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital from Heart failure complications. Today finally his body has been repatriated to Melbourne and the funeral date now set for 0ct 6th at Lilydale Memorial Park Cemetary , Lillydale at 1.45 pm Melbourne time . Because of Covid Restrictions only 10 adults are allowed and therefore the service we have organised will be live streamed via a link . I will view the service from our home in Geraldton with friends who wish to present . I had the priviledge along with his grandson Jake to be with Bill as he calmly and peacefully passed away holding our hand . Since Bill had a stroke a week after we closed the shop life has been a rollercoaster and Bill fought so hard to keep going . Sadly our journey home to Melbourne and the dreams we had will not eventuate as we planned. I am will go back and see our new home but not sure whether i will stay. I take each day as it comes at present. I am shattered yet i am blessed that we met just over 10 years ago and forever grateful for his love and the life we shared and he will be forever in my heart .

BY 40, OUR MIDDLE FINGER IS AT HALF-MAST...
By 50, it’s full on UP.
By 60, both of those fingers are hoisted,
and not a single care is given any more.
I mean, we care about our family, our friends and our passions.
We care about the environment.
We care about equality and living in peace.
But we don’t care about ‘fitting in’ and we don’t care about what people think of us.
Not anymore.
Too many years were wasted on that.
We certainly don’t care to stay quiet, or bite our tongues,
we haven’t wasted all these life lessons to play dumb when the situation calls for our wisdom.
Neither do we care if our waistline is the acceptable size or if our thighs are toned and unblemished.
We have wrinkles, we have stretch marks, we have war wounds, warts and all.
And we are rocking each and every one of them in all their glory.
You see, there comes a time in every woman’s life where you realise that this is it.
This is the time to be alive.
To live without restriction or oppression.
To break free of the chains society binds us with and tear loose.
This is our time to be completely and totally who we were supposed to be along.
The sooner you get there, the better.
Life waits for no woman.

I do not normally share my children and their family posts due to respecting their privacy. However this post i received 14 days ago brought tears of relief to me when my youngest daughter with her husband and my grandson finally left Calfornia to come home to Australia. Tiday we jusr received news after 13 days in quarantine in a Sydney hotel their final Covid test in quarantine (three times tested in hotel) is negative and tomorrow they can leave hotel and fly home to Melbourne. I will not seen them until April but just knowing they made it is a such a relief (tears again) and i can relax knowing my darling youngest is home and safe. i know my eldest daughter will also feel so relieved living in Melbourne during both lock downs , they too have had there own share of stress. My son in law's family will be also so relieved . I feel so blessed that our family are now all on home soil , however this ordeal has highlighted the that there are many expats who are stll in dire situations with no money and no home. We need to help them come home..Lets start an Expats Go fund/With a 50% payforward/paylater fund. Get them home in decent quarantine quarters with fresh air . Once the receipents of the fund have completed their quarantine are settled and in jobs they can start to pay a 5% payforward weekly( until) paid back 50% of amount received) to fund potential Bush fires and other natural disasters ..
