Spring is here ☀️ 💐

Children in studio 4 have been observing the change in weather and nature around them.

They observed that more flowers are starting to blossom in our garden, birds, colour and more.

Active play in the sun ☀️

Today our children in kinder enjoyed learning experiences that involved team work, coordination and movement.

Children showed great interest in playing games and sport so we extended their learning with footy games this week in preparation for the AFL Grand Final Week 🏆🏈

Friendly Reminder: Our Service will be closed on Thursday 22nd of September 2022 for the National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Friday 23rd September 2022 for the AFL Grand Final Public Holiday.

If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Service Manager.
Studio 8 this week

Love to see all the children had fun in the ☀️, exploring with sensory experience and creating marks, practices their writing skills, building connections with their peers. Importantly, being themselves and big smiles 😊.

Extending on children’s learning with chemical reaction in studio 4.

We used scrapes from our morning tea and filled a jar with scrapes and water, then covered with balloons, but we are going to wait next week and see what happens.

Studio 5 children explored with new learning spaces in the toddler yard.

Fun in the sun with their peers❤️.
Dear families,

Studio 1 children loved the beautiful weather.

Imagination :- What a great imagination you all have. You were very imaginative during the experience. You know how to held the spoon and the tongs. You were looking at your peers and smiling. You did such an amazing work by scoping the Pom poms in and out of the tray with the help of spoon and tongs. You have developed your sensory skills and your hand and eye coordination.

Being interested in things :- What an interesting day, children are playing and engaging with different resources. Some are playing with music books and listening to the music, some are holding phone and babbling and giggling, some are playing with farm animals. Each and every child showing their interest and exploring.

Curiosity :- Children are showing their curiosity in sea creatures. They are sensing different sea creatures and showing interest in them. They were looking at the different sea creatures and babbling with their peers. They were looking at the poster, trying to hold it with their hands, and feeling the texture of it. It was great to see how they were developing their social relationships and sharing the resources with their peers.

Thank you Studio 1 team.
Studio 6 children today visited our local cafe. Thank you to The Jolly Miller Cafe for catering for us.

Our children recently used their imagination and showed great interest in pretend play in a coffee shop.

J said “my favourite food is garlic bread”
N said “I love the baby-chino”

On the way back we stopped at the fruit shop to discuss about the fruit and vegetables.

Thank you to all families that help to make educators’ day special to our team.❤️
To our amazing educators at Sparrow early learning Manorlakes! Happy Educators Day.

You provide children with an environment where they are celebrated for their unique individuality, empowered to be exactly who they are.

You are dedicated, caring and nurturing and ensure each child walking through your classroom door is both educated and loved. When the time comes for children to leave through those same classroom doors, you make sure they do so confident, happy, and ready for the next steps in their learning journey.

You engage in brain building, meaningful connections, laying down the foundation for everything else that will come afterwards.

It takes a community to raise a child. Thank you for everything you do!

Reading to young children is an important way to help them build language skills. It exposes them to new words and ways of using language. It also helps them learn general information about the world, which makes it easier for them to learn about new subjects once they get to school.

Natural items are perfect to use for loose part play in the classroom. Loose parts play offers children many learning opportunities such as creative thinking and inventiveness and encourages a sense of wonder. When children engage with loose part materials, they are able to manipulate the materials freely.

Peek -a-boo!!

Peekaboo (also spelled peek-a-boo) is a form of play played with an infant.

To play, one player hides their face, pops back into the view of the other, and says Peekaboo!, sometimes followed by I see you!

There are many variations: for example, where trees are involved, "Hiding behind that tree!" is sometimes added.

The ritual of the shared meal continuously reinforces each individual's identity.

Qualities like empathy and understanding can also be developed by children at mealtimes, as views and perspectives other than their own are discussed. Most importantly, mealtimes make people feel connected to others.

How do you honor a child
Talk to your child like the grownup you want them to become. In their early years, baby talk is fine. ...
Give them your ear. ...
Don't interrupt. ...
Offer them a role. ...
Don't laugh, offer praise. ...
Demonstrate trust. ...
Give them space.

The power of space is a space to learn through sensory opportunities.

Comfort renews the body and mind, reduces anxiety and fear, and releases tension.

Comfort Response: Increases relaxation, slows breathing, stimulates the body's natural ability to heal, reduces stress hormones, decreases pain and suffering, lowers blood pressure, and enhances energy.
