Today is National Close the Gap Day. Striving for equity in life outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Closing the Gap is a national strategy working towards systemic changes necessary to improve First Peoples’ access to, and self-determined decision-making regarding education, employment, health and wellbeing, justice, safety, housing, languages, lands and waters.

While Closing the Gap is largely implemented through partnerships between Australian governments and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities, organisations and businesses, we all have a role in achieving equity for future generations.
