The fast track way to learn boat handling skills is definitely bay racing around the sticks. Not just about sail boats but the experience covers the way all boats manoeuvre in tight situations. If you want to improve, get onboard at one of the clubs near you. There are always boats looking to train crew.

Navigating at night? Ensure your boat's safety with proper nav lights! For powered vessels under 12m, the configuration differs when underway and at anchor.
- When underway, a powered vessel under 12m should display a red light on the port side and a green light on the starboard side, visible from a distance of 1 nautical mile along with an all round white light.
- When at anchor, the same vessel should turn off their side lights and only display an all-around white light visible from 2 nautical miles.
The all round white light is critical when underway, so that you are visible from behind, by overtaking boats.

We get it, the thrill of the moment is hard to ignore. especially when you have so much power right at your fingertips.
Just keep in mind, you're in control of a force of nature... one that's as hefty as a bear (300 kg) and as swift as a cheetah (100 km/h)
....to be precise.
Wrangling either of these creatures on solid ground is a feat, let alone on water - so let's wield this power with responsibility and respect.
Cool your jets. Ride safe this summer.
