[04/26/20]   Although the world is in crisis right now, it does not mean your child’s education should be. With my online one to one video conferencing and tailored classes and resources, I can assist your student with English, Italian Humanities homework, assignments, exam preparation or just general content. Transitioning from classroom to distance education may be overwhelming for students, especially when their teacher seems inaccessible. Therefore, having one-on-one assistance outside the virtual classroom will make sure your student still gets the support their education deserves.

[04/22/20]   Week 2, Day 3 What are the needs of our children? Ensuring the wellbeing of your child.

In a normal world, on a daily basis, from the Department of Education and in our schools, teachers, such as myself, are monitoring the wellbeing of our students. It is important, as parents to continually monitor the wellbeing of your children whilst maintaining their academic success, their routine, their daily class schedule and their tasks and assessments. Hull, 2003 “At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents.” I know it can seem like we’re currently at the bottom of Mount Everest however I can’t stress how essential your child’s wellbeing needs are bound to their academic success.

Promoting a positive wellbeing ensures that your child feels happier and has a more positive outlook about themselves, their studies and their relationships, within the household, friendships etc. This can be promoted by a healthy diet and consistent exercise regime outlined as per the Victorian Government guidelines. Now, there are limitations to activities however I would recommend continued contact with friends, meet ups with friends via video conferencing as would have occurred prior to quarantine. This will help to alleviate further isolation and affect your child’s wellbeing. We must take into consideration that success is a twofold scenario, that is an effect on your child’s wellbeing could flow on to effect their school and academic achievements.

Ensure your children have time to relax, ‘chill out’ and take time to themselves; this could look like time without any digital or social media. Overall, ask ‘how they are, how they are feeling and how they are coping with distance education and the pressures of COVID-19’. If you feel that there’s a barrier between yourself and your child I would be more than happy to step in as someone with a nonbiased approach. I’ll sign off with a quote.
Leisure activities such as contemplation, going for a stroll or a bike ride boost our overall health, wellbeing, and creativity.

[04/16/20]   To battle the current COVID-19 crisis in education it’s essential to ensure our students maintain their academic levels. Precision Tutoring helps students with the new methods of distance education and continuing their learning success.

At Precision Tutoring, I have over 5 years teaching experience from years 7-VCE. My teaching specialisations are English and Language. I help my students to understand the basics of language, reading, writing and grammar. I have experience teaching English, Humanities, Italian at a high school level. I can tailor a tutoring session right for you and your needs. I have written a thesis on ‘how to better engage the learner using ICT in education’ and as a result distance education isn’t a stranger to me, nor is using computers to enhance the learning process.

To enhance the current learning process, as well as maintaining the government’s advice surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, I have set up online tutoring sessions. These sessions utilise the video conferencing tool Zoom. The hour sessions can be individualised or for small groups pending enrollment.

The main objective is to continually grow and reach your academic goals, whether setting foot into high school or preparing yourself for tertiary studies. Don't let the current Covid-19 pandemic impact your academic achievement.
