Egg and spoon raceπŸ₯‡
Helps develop your child's hand-eye coordination, their balance and their ability to follow instructions.
These little ones didn't give up, each time they dropped the egg, they stopped, went back to the start line and tried again.

A* says it's the colours in the sky that come when its raining.
They went on to create their versions of a rainbow.

Science week 14th to 22nd August 2021.

Bicarb, ice, food colouring and dinosaurs fizzing with vinegar potionsπŸ˜…

Although we didnt manage to " fizz" the dinasaurs as much as the children had hoped, we still had fun releasing each dino from the ice using syringes, spoons, cups filled with vinegar!

Abit of fun emphasising the importance of washing hands to avoid germs... We have completed this exercise so many times and it never gets old.
The pepper (germs) float on the water because pepper is lighter than the water.
Without any soap on your finger the germs (or pepper) don’t move at all instead some actually stuck to our fingers. However, germs do not like soap so we added some soap to our fingers and the germs( pepper ) ran away from the soap on your finger!

Science week 14th - 22nd August 2021.

Skittles are coated in food colouring and sugar. When you pour water over the skittles the coloured coating dissolves spreading through the water. The colour and sugar dissolve into the water and then diffuse through the water, making it into a rainbow of skittle colours πŸ™‚

After many days of isolation we're back and ready to have fun with our "best friends".
Abit of Olympic fun was had today as we made and painted salt dough medals, ran, skipped, hopped, jumped and crawled.
The best part of all was cheering each other onπŸ†πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡

Construction toysπŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘·β€β™€οΈπŸ‘·
Kick bricks are so versatile and the children absolutely love playing with them.
The best part about these is that the children get to build their own worlds by using them as tables, kick them, throw them and stack them and in doing so they discuss important topics such as weight, balance and height. So interesting to watch as the children worked on projects together using these awesome toys!

Today is 'World Bee Day'
The main purpose of World Bee Day events and activities is to spread awareness of the significance of bees and other pollinators for our survival...
We briefly discussed how bees help to pollinate flowers, which is how they blossom and grow more. They also make honey, which animals and people love to eat🍯🍯🐝🐝🌺🌻🌼

As ANZAC Day approaches we engaged in different aspects of play as children looked at a range of facts about ANZAC day. We spoke about caring for each other and the importance of remembering days that make us both happy and sad.
ANZAC activities included wreath and poppy making, reading books about ANZAC day and treating ourselves to some warm Anzac biscuits that the children all made. (explaining that these biscuits were sent to soldiers at war by their families)

Over the last few weeks we have been having fun with science experiments, excursions to the playground, yoga sessions, Easter egg hunts, building obstacle courses and just playing with our friends.

Ice cubes are fun to use in science activities to promote critical thinking and observation. The children observe changes throughout the experiment to see how various factors affect the movement of the ice cubes, and it was a race to see who could melt their ice cubes and retrieve their treasure first.πŸ€πŸ₯‡

Shopkeepers at our market stall:
Children love to role play from an early age, it promotes and builds their self-confidence and improves their communication skills. It provides children a safe environment to explore new ideas and make sense of the world around them, improve counting skills, recognise numbers on money all whilst having fun.

Australia Day sensory activityπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

As the children shape the playdough into a ball, rectangle or star, they’re thinking creatively and learning shapes too.
The squeezing, pinching and pulling movements also strengthen their hand muscles and develop fine motor skills.

Their flags turned out amazing πŸ₯‡

NAIDOC Week runs from 8-15 November 2020 and the theme this year is;

"Always Was, Always Will Be."

We are spiritually and culturally connected to this country.
The theme for NAIDOC Week 2020 recognises the First Nations people who have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.
NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to see, hear, learn about and embrace the history of this country which dates back thousands of generations.

Our chefs were back baking up a storm...πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸ‘©β€πŸ³

As it was National Pyjama Day on the 17th July, we hopped into our favourite PJ's and did our part in helping raise vital funds for children in foster care. We had so much fun with our baking and seeing as it was a beautiful day we spent most part of the day playing outdoors.

Baking with the children in care provides them with a practical experience with many essential skills such as following directions, basic maths and measuring. Once again we're able to develop fine motor skills, eye hand coordination and communication skills.

Today some of the children excitedly returned into care after Covid Isolation and dressed up as aspiring chefs.
* Role play gives children the opportunity to express themselves creatively and engage in storytelling.
* Children have the opportunity to enact the role that they are playing, which develops their language skills and extends their imagination.
* Collectively we decided to prepare "meals" outdoors, the children prepared sand cakes, sand shakes, leafy salad and so much more.
