At Little Lane Box Hill, creating an inclusive and culturally safe environment for children and families is our top priority. To celebrate National Child Protection Week, we implemented the ‘Safer Communities Program’.
By sharing seven engaging bush animal stories with specific safety messages, we sparked meaningful conversations about safety and equipped our little ones with the tools to discuss these important topics with trusted adults.
To reinforce the community’s responsibility to value and protect children, we encourage our educators, families, and community members to share their thoughts on how we can create a safer environment for our children.
We’re grateful for the contributions of everyone who is part of the Little Lane community.

LL Hawthorn celebrated Book Week 2024 in epic style with our little ones where we engaged in so many fun activities. We read books, decorated our doors, dressed up as different book characters and even enjoyed our educators performing The Three Little Pigs play.🥰🥰

This is how the team at LL Hawthorn celebrated Science Week, supporting our little curious minds to ask questions, make predictions, come up with hypothesis, experiment and investigate the world around them.

Today our little friends in Auburn visited the Fairview Park 🏞where they explored different aspects of the natural environment around them, ran around till their hearts were full💖 and enjoyed a yummy picnic lunch🌯 made by our very own Chef while listening to a fun story📚 read by their Educators. 🥰🥰

Walking around in their community and engaging with the people and places around them provides our little children with a sense of belonging and a sense of identity. This is why LL Hawthorn strives to provide our little ones with many opportunities to engage with the community around them 🏘

We all had a wheelie good time during our first ever Wheelie Day at LL Hawthorn🚲🎊

While some of us did not want this event to end, others wanted a second round☺️☺️This was how much fun our little ones had at our Wheelie Day.

The joyful chats, the shared laughter and the cheerful friendships of our little ones made this event a memorable one for all of us🥰🥰

We had a wonderful visit from Amy, Box Hill North Primary School foundation teacher, this morning. She shared valuable insights into school life and our Flinders, Hosier and Oxford children were thrilled to learn about their upcoming school year.
We’re hoping to support Little Lane children form bonds with their future school teachers and have a positive start at school.

Little Lane Hawthorn's Bake Sale in celebration of National Pyjama Day was a huge success and we couldn't be more happier as the donations collected from this event is for the Pyjama Foundation to help support children in foster care. 🥰🥰

The Bake Sale had contributions from children as well as parents. All the rooms had been very busy baking with their Educators preparing for this event.😍😍

We love celebrating with our community and appreciate the love and support we receive always. 💛💛

Understanding different cultures and learning to respect diversity plays a key role in creating an inclusive future generation.

This is why our little friends from Denmark, Flinders, and Camberwell rooms visited the Gallery of Young Art in Hawthorn to experience the Boomerang Exhibition organised in celebration of NAIDOC week. This visit led our little ones to not only explore the Boomerang Exhibition but also visit the Art Gallery to appreciate the paintings done by Mr Kevin Chin.

Inspired by their experience at the Gallery, our little friends created their own drawings as well Boomerangs, learning the importance of cultural competence.

A trip to the supermarket can be a fantastic learning experience for children of all ages!
Our ELC curriculum incorporates everyday living practices and helps children gain a sense of independence.
Last week, Thames children went on an excursion to Woolies and Flinders children went on an excursion to Post Office.
Children engaged in thoughtfully designed learning experiences that fostered their development in a fun and engaging way.

Congratulations to the wonderful Miss Diksha, our 4-Year Old Kinder Teacher, from Little Lane Hawthorn. 🎊🎉

Miss Diksha has recently completed her inquiry project and after presenting this to a panel of fellow teachers, she has gained her Full Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. 😊

We are incredibly proud of Miss Diksha and her accomplishment along with the wonderful 4-Year Old Kinder program she runs at our centre. Little Lane is passionate about supporting our educators to further their professional development and we can’t wait to see what Miss Diksha, along with the rest of our team, achieve in the future.🥰🥰

Today we had Rachel from the (Hawthorn Library) come in to LL Hawthorn, for a very exciting story reading session. She sang songs with the little ones and read so many interactive books. The children kept asking for more and more books to be read☺️☺️

Today was a beautiful day for our little friends in Monash as they spent their whole morning at the Scullin Park🌴🌳🌾🌷🌻🪻

The park was filled with shouts of joy as they ran around playing in the playground. After this exciting playtime, our Educators conducted a very relaxing Yoga session to enjoy the stillness of nature followed by a very healthy picnic lunch at the park, prepared especially by our very own Chef.

This year in celebration of National Reconciliation Week, the community at Little Lane, Hawthorn joined the movement as another successful step in our journey towards reconciliation🩷💙🤎🧡❤️🩵💚

Recently our Little Lane Hawthorn team headed out together for some team bonding outside of work.


We took on the challenge laid down by MANIAX Axe Throwing and their crew. The staff got involved aiming for the targets and after some practice, ended in a tournament with one staff member coming out victorious, congratulations Miss Shanta!👏👏


A big thanks to the Little Lane Team for providing our educators with this opportunity to get together outside of work and have some much deserved fun.😍😍

Our little friends were more than excited to engage with the Fire Fighters who visited Little Lane, Hawthorn and who very patiently supported every child to have a first hand experience with the Fire Truck.😍😍
