Congratulations to Murchison Junior Football League President Neil Montgomery who is this weeks winner of a $50 Skeetas Restaurant & Cafe voucher.

Based in Cue, Neil has been one of the key drivers behind the building of the foundations for the junior league start up. After setting up a constitution last year, he has formed a committee that organises and helps kids from the towns of Yalgoo, Mount Magnet, Cue, & Meekatharra to travel each Saturday morning to play football with each other. He has also liaised with local shires, community groups, Geraldton Sporting AC Gsac staff, and the Stephen Michael Foundation who have a massive footprint in the Murchison, to make sure it's all hands on deck and no one misses out. Without the massive amount of work that Neil and these organisations do football in the Murchison wouldn't be possible! Some absolutely incredible stuff happening out in our remote areas!

East Fremantle and Peel Thunder will be playing at Country Builders Stadium on Sunday 16th July in the Josh Kennedy Foundation Cup at 2.10pm. Towns and Northampton League teams will be paying the curtain raiser at 11.40am. Please note there will be no parking available around the ground. See you all there!

WAFC Design a Jumper Competition!

Does your school need new jumpers?! Our design a jumper competition gives students a chance to design a jumper using local landmarks, school ethos, population, location etc. with entries closing Friday, June 30, 2023. The major prize is a set of jumpers in the winning design presented to the winning schools proudly supported by Burley Sekem.

Tessa has recently been pivotal in organising the League's West Australian Country Football League representative team again this year, and their squad is looking like an early challenger to take out their division! Drew currently coaches the Womens team as well as taking on the under 14s job this year with Zoe helping him every step of the way! When they aren’t doing this they are helping the Womens team run the AFL Auskick Geraldton on Saturday mornings. Each and every week they are putting in hours and hours to help the future generations learn our great game! Brigades are lucky to have these two at their club and the work they do doesn’t go unnoticed.

Meagan is currently the secretary at the club, as well as the Women’s team manager. On top of this she also acts as the team manager for the Great Northern Football League’s Women’s team competing at the West Australian Country Football League Country Champs. She’s also currently organising a whole bunch of social events for the club, including their Ladies Day on June 17th!

Congratulations to Chapman Valley "Royals" Football Club Senior Coach Aaron “Pidge” Thomas who is this weeks winner of a $50 Skeetas Restaurant & Cafe voucher.
