How else would you assess your integrated maths / tech plan? Well we used kahoot! For our angles post test and our unit of measurement pre test - amazing the results compared to conventional testing!!
We used a very simple activity to introduce algorithms today - so much awesome on topic conversation was heard! Was the direction of the discussion in the lesson plan? Nope! Did we roll with it anyway? Yep!
Room 1 Magnet mob had a great time making their Mother's Day gifts - as part of our "informal" measurement discussion they made awesome whipped lemon & coconut body scrub for mums nanas and aunties!
Miss Bernie working with LC on our persuasive writing plans using branching that we learnt about in the STEM PL to show supporting reasons! Miss Bernie used the table to write LCs ideas down! Loved this collaboration!

After the brilliant PD last term I have been working at integrating my technology and maths plans this term. My students (some with extremely low literacy) are engaging and producing evidence of understanding the concepts (angles). We have almost completed our level 1 recall and reproduction series of lessons.

GAMES ON IN THE MURCHISON 🏆🏆🏆🏆

About 100 children from across the Murchison gathered in Cue yesterday for a youth sports carnival with a focus on cricket and football.
The event was organised by the Stephen Michael Foundation and brought together competitors from towns including Wiluna, Mt Magnet and Meekatharra, Western Australia .
Foundation program coordinator Andrew McCarrey says the region has a wealth of sporting talent.
"I have been working up in the area for a couple of years and the sporting talent is just unbelievable and so much of it goes unnoticed."
"By developing this sporting league we’re hoping it could potentially lead to pathways for some of these talented children - and there’s certainly a lot of them out there," Andrew says.

Congratulations to those who were selected to be part of the Aspirant Aboriginal Leadership Program - awesome to see 3 from the Midwest - Lisa Capewell [ex Pia Wadjarri RCS teacher]; Elli, Principal Yalgoo PS and Nicci, Principal Mullewa DHS.

We held our first workshop of Aboriginal leaders at the Institute yesterday to co-design the Aspirant Aboriginal Leadership program. Co-design is a process in which end users, current and aspirant Aboriginal leaders, are equal participants and partners providing insights, contributing ideas, as well as testing and refining solutions. The Aspirant Aboriginal Leadership program will be launched in 2020. https://bit.ly/2zsQBt1
