Did you tune in last night?
Last evening's Just the facts live broadcast featured a meaningful and insightful discussion with the Minister of Education, an Education Officer, and two of our dedicated teachers. The conversation highlighted both the progress we've made and the challenges we must address as a community.
One message stood out clearly:
WE MUST MAKE READING A PRIORITY AGAIN.
Reading is the foundation of learning, yet many of our students are struggling with it or losing interest in it. We must work together to make it engaging, relevant and valued.
This is not a responsibility of the Minister, Education department or the schools alone. It requires the support of the entire community.
What if :
Shops or other businesses had small reading corners while you wait?
Sponsors for reading spots in schools and villages.
It don't have to be big, it just have to be intentional.
INSTEAD OF A PHONE, IPAD OR COMPUTER! ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO TURN A LEAF AND MAKE READING COOL AGAIN.
Drop your ideas on how we can make reading cool again!

Let’s break the stereotype and take a glimpse into our world at Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School- WISE Campus.
It is often said that the WISE Campus at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School is a place for rude or disruptive students. However, this is far from the truth.
WISE is not the behavioural unit of the school.
In fact, WISE stands for Workshop Initiative Secondary Education. It is a specialized learning environment where students who demonstrate strong abilities and interest in technical and vocational areas are given the opportunity to develop their talents.
At WISE, students study core academic subjects such as:
• Mathematics
• English
• Social Studies
• Science
• Information Technology
• Reading
In addition, students receive hands-on training in technical areas including:
• Construction Design
• Carpentry
• Building Trades
• Vehicle Technology
• Electrical Installation
• Art and Design
• Culinary and Hospitality
Through dedication and hard work, students also work toward achieving a Pearson BTEC Diploma in their chosen area of study.
At WISE, our students are building skills, discovering their strengths, and preparing for future careers and opportunities.
Stay tuned as we begin sharing more posts to give you a glimpse into our world here at WISE.

Celebrating the next generation of young entrepreneurs!
Our 4th and 5th Form students had the opportunity to participate in the GetSet Program for Teen Entrepreneurs, an initiative designed to help shape young minds in developing business ideas and understanding the essentials of running a business.
Today, with great pride, each student was presented with a certificate for their participation in the program, which was newly introduced at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School (Wise Campus). The certificate ceremony was held at Innovate Anguilla, celebrating the students’ hard work, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Special thanks to Waynika Romney and the WISE Coordinator, Mrs. Cynthia Gumbs, for helping to make this dream a reality. We also extend our appreciation to the teachers of WISE who supported this initiative and recognized its importance, as well as to all the facilitators who dedicated their time and knowledge to teaching and inspiring our students.
We are proud of our young entrepreneurs and look forward to seeing the ideas and businesses they will create in the future.
